Who is Gordon Elliott?

Gordon Elliott is a renowned National Hunt racehorse trainer based in County Meath, Ireland. Transitioning from a solid career as an amateur jockey, Elliott obtained his training licence in 2006 and quickly established himself as one of the leading figures in horse racing. Known for his strategic training and a sharp eye for equine talent, Elliott’s stables at Cullentra House are home to over 200 horses.

Elliott’s remarkable training career has produced significant victories on some of racing’s grandest stages. He clinched his first Grand National win in 2007 when Silver Birch landed for him at a massive price of 33/1. He guided the much-loved Tiger Roll to back-to-back Grand National wins in 2018 and 2019, a feat very few trainers have achieved. His achievements at the Cheltenham Festival are extensive. Elliott has 40 festival wins to his name, including a win in the Cheltenham Gold Cup with Don Cossack.

Elliott’s ability to consistently prepare his horses for peak performances in high-stakes races is why many bettors keep an eye on his runners. Elliott’s presence is always felt strongly at prominent racing festivals, where his horses are known for their competitive edge and resilience. As he continues to build on his impressive record, Elliott’s influence on National Hunt racing doesn’t look to be on the wane anytime soon.
