Sean Bowen is a notable Welsh National Hunt jockey. His career in racing is deeply rooted, being the son of renowned trainer Peter Bowen and brother of fellow jockey James. His journey into racing began with an accomplished stint as a point-to-point jockey. In 2014 he won the prestigious Wilkinson Sword award, an annual prize presented to the leading male novice rider under-21 with no wins at the season’s outset.

Bowen’s performances attracted the attention of Paul Nichols, and he joined the multiple time champion trainer as a conditional jockey. The partnership was successful from the outset, as Bowen rode 51 winners and claimed the Conditional Jockey Championship in the 2014/15 Season. His most prolific campaign came in 2018/19 with 91 winners. He also grabbed a Group 1 win in 2021 with Metier in the Tolworth Novices’ Hurdle.
